Carlsbad holds the county's largest cluster of industrial, R&D and flex space north of Sorrento Mesa, most of it along Palomar Airport Road: Carlsbad Research Center, Carlsbad Oaks and Bressi Ranch. It is fifteen minutes from the studio in Encinitas, which makes a same-week shoot the usual case rather than the exception.

What is different here
McClellan-Palomar Airport sits in the middle of the corridor, and its controlled airspace covers most of the research center, so every flight is authorised at booking. The coast is two miles west: a west-facing building gets the ocean behind it from the air, and the marine layer decides the morning, so the planner's hourly forecast for the address is what a Carlsbad shoot is booked on.

How quickly can you shoot in Carlsbad?
The studio is in Encinitas, fifteen minutes away, so a same-week shoot is usually possible, weather allowing.
What do you shoot on a flex or R&D building?
The building and its parking from the air, the entries and the grade-level and dock doors from the ground, and inside the office build-out, the lab or production space and the warehouse, with the lights on and the floor clear.
